Obstetrician, Family Practitioner, or Midwife, the Choice is Yours
Physicians specializing in obstetrics and gynecology provide quality care for mothers who are new or experienced with the childbirth process. The OB/GYN specialists and Family Medicine physicians have decades of experience and are known for their compassionate and personal care.
Midwifery is a family-centered childbirth option available to you at McLaren. A certified nurse midwife is educated in two disciplines, nursing and midwifery. Midwives serve as mentors and caregivers for women seeking active participation in the "normal, healthy process" of pregnancy and birth. McLaren is the only medical center in the area to offer midwifery care.

McLaren makes every effort for you to form a strong bond with your newborn. New parents appreciate being close to their babies, and at McLaren, we encourage you to keep your baby with you as much as possible. Special measures are in place to ensure the safety and security of your baby at the BirthPlace. Electronic security ankle bands are placed on every infant following birth. The entire BirthPlace unit is accessible only to authorized staff and guests through a locked entrance.
